2026 Car Free Day LI Bragging Rights Awards

The results are in! Long Islanders made 5,352 pledges this year, helping prevent an estimated 99 tons of CO₂. Stony Brook University earned the overall top spot, followed by Northwell Health.

Colleges and Universities: Stony Brook University led the category, followed by Adelphi University in second place and Farmingdale State College in third.

Public Schools: West Hills Public Schools earned 27 pledges.

Healthcare Category: Northwell Health led the category, with NYU Langone in second place and Catholic Health in third.

Corporations: IMEG took first place, followed by Bedgear in second and Riverhead Building Supply in third.

Municipalities: The Town of North Hempstead took first place, narrowly ahead of the Town of Babylon in second. Suffolk County placed third.

Nonprofits: Community Development of LI earned 14 pledges.
